Rules & Regulations

  • FIDE rapid rules are applicable.
  • The first illegal move is penalized; the second illegal move results in
    forfeiture of the game.
  • Any falsification in the submission of age or ID proof will lead to immediate
    disqualification from the tournament.
  • Tie-break methods: Median Buchholz, Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger, direct
    encounter, and greater number of victories.
  • The tournament consists of 6 rounds.
  • Making a move without pressing the clock is considered an illegal move.
    Ensure using the same hand for moving pieces and pressing the clock.
  • Each game has a time control of 15 minutes per player, with a default time
    of 5 minutes.
  • Using both hands for castling, pawn promotion, or capturing pieces is
    prohibited.
  • Mobile phones and electronic devices are strictly prohibited during play.
    They must be switched off and kept in a bag, which is allowed.
  • The arbiter's decision is final and binding on all players.
  • The tournament committee's decisions are final in all matters.
  • Any discrepancy or error in a player's result entry must be reported to the
    chief arbiter before the next round begins; otherwise, the arbiter's result will
    be considered final.
  • After each game, both players are responsible for ensuring the accurate
    recording of the result (win, loss, or draw).
  • The arbiter has the authority to indicate when a player's clock time has
    expired.
